I’m sorry for the long absence on the blog. We are neither in the Orient nor still in Kentucky (see the children’s posts); but similar to the wise men we are still traveling afar. Though not bearing gold, frankincense or myrrh, I hope I am bearing gifts of honor, joy and thankfulness to our Father in heaven who has placed this journey before us. We just finished visiting with my younger sister in the Nashville area, and are now venturing off into the lonely Smokey Mountains. My heart is reluctantly waving farewell to both my sisters and their families. May God be gracious that we would be able to cherish moments together again.
While in Tennessee we shared lots of hugs, talks and country walks. We also visited a few of Nashville’s iconic sites. Among them was downtown Nashville and the Opryland. In the midst of the everyday events of school and meals, my sister and I did find a little time to be creative. It was a refreshing kickstart for the remaining journey.
For those of you who haven’t experienced being packed in a travel trailer for three months at a time, I am sure I sound silly when I revel in the space of a house, the luxury of real toilet paper or the conversation of friends and family. There are so many things we get used to that are such blessings to be enjoyed.
